Russian President Vladimir Putin and Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras have discussed the settlement of the Syrian crisis and situation with refugees in the European Union (EU), Tass News Agency quoted the Kremlin press service as saying on Thursday.
Main attention was paid to the Syrian crisis with emphasis on the necessity of observing the ceasefire regime in Syria, the press service said.
The Russian president noted that ensuring the ceasefire is a key factor for normalizing the international situation, improving the humanitarian situation in the region, as well as an important step on the way of inter-Syrian political settlement, the Kremlin added.
"The Greek prime minister highly praised the efforts to ensure the ceasefire and briefed Putin on measures taken by the European Union to settle the refugee problem," the press service noted.
