Federation of Kurdish Associations in France expressed support for the solution process initiated by Turkish government. "We are all pleased. Kurds in France approve and support the process", said the Director of Federation of Kurdish Associations Mehmet Ulker. Ulker stated that Turkey would be a great power in the Middle East, had it spearheaded the establishment of a model in the region. Ulker stated that both Turks and Kurds approach each other with concern, and said "Are the both sides really pro-solution or not? This will be clarified in the upcoming process" Touching upon the Newroz celebrations on March 21, Ulker said that the enthusiasm of the public had shown their readiness for peace. -CHP and MHP are not ready for the process- Ulker said that the opposition parties Republican People's Party (CHP)ve National Movement Party (MHP) were not ready for the solution process because "they are afraid of Turkey's disintegration and as they can't understand the new process, the Middle East and the world." Ulker emphasized on the role of main opposition party CHP in the process, said "I think the process will be more healthy, if CHP understands and contributes in it." Stating that the following step of the process would be the withdrawal of armed elements from the Turkish soil, for which Ulker claimed that Turkish parliament had to construct a legal basis.
