Kurdish party condemns suicide bombing in Turkish town

Turkey's Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party condemned on Monday as "inhuman" the attack in southeastern Turkey that left 28 people dead and 100 others injured.

"We condemn the inhuman attack in Suruç today. May God have mercy on all our friends who died in the attack, we extend our condolences relatives of the dead," Co-chairs of the party Figen Yüksekdağ & Selahattin Demirtaş said in a statement.

"Today, we have witnessed once again what this savage and rapist army is able to do," they said.

The statement added that the attack targeted Turkey’s revolutionaries who were on their way in order to act with solidarity with Kobane.

"All countries and regimes from which ISIL has received support are partners in this barbarism. Those who keep silent and do not dare to raise their voice against ISIL, governors in Ankara who are threatening the HDP every day and protecting ISIL are accomplices to this barbarism," it said.

At least 28 people were killed and 100 others injured in the explosion that hit a cultural centre in the Turkish town of Suruc near the border with Syria, the interior ministry said.
