His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has cabled Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, congratulating him on the decision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz, appointing him as the Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister.His Highness the Amir, in the cable addressed to Prince Nayef, expressed good wishes so that he may be able to serve his country well and pursue his renowned contributions in the country's development and good actions.HH the Amir also wished Prince Nayef lasting health and expressed hope the Saudi nation would enjoy further prosperity under the sagacious leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and HH the Prime Minister, Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, addressed identical cables to Prince Nayef.Late on Thursday, the Saudi Monarch issued a Royal Decree, naming Prince Nayef to serve in the three senior posts.He succeeded his late brother the Crown Prince, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.The move came following consultations with the chairman and members of the Allegiance Council of the ruling family.Prince Nayef was named interior minister in 1975, and first deputy prime minister in 2009.
