
Zakat House announced that the Orphan Project sponsors some 100,000 orphans in 32 countries through 83 official institutions. Director of the department of orphans and students in the Zakat House Waheed Al-Busairi said in a statement today that this project aims to provide social, educational and health welfare for orphan children who have lost their breadwinner. He explained that such care is done through the creation of appropriate environmental conditions for raising and upbringing them well according to the teachings of Islam and the guidance of the Sunnah. Al-Busairi added that the orphan would be cared for in his or her educational career till he or she reaches the legal age which qualifies him or her to work independently.
