Kuwaiti cleric shafi al-Ajmi condones violent religious extremism in Syria

Well-known radical Kuwaiti Preacher Shafi Al Ajmi said in a recent interview with Rai, a Kuwaiti-based newspaper, that the wave of radicalism witnessed in Syria was part of a global effort from Persian Gulf countries. Al Ajmi explained that Kuwait might have taken the lead when it comes to the promotion of Salafism, all Persian Gulf Arab countries had a common vision and agreement on the matter, Islam Times reported. Al Ajmi emphasized that Daesh - The name "Daesh" is an acronym for "Dulat al-Islam fi al-Iraq wal-Sham" better known as "the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)", which is a Sunni Salafi organization affiliated with the Al-Qaeda – was actually introduced in Iraq back in 2007. The organization was first founded in Iraq in 2004, with the name "The Islamic State in Iraq", with the goal of establishing an extremist Islamic state in every area that was taken by the Al-Qaeda organization, meaning that they will assume sovereignty and take political and diplomatic control, after the jihadist organization of Al-Qaeda took the territory from who they labeled the enemies of Islam. A promoter of violence and sectarian hatred, Al Ajmi is a well know figure of the Salafi movement. He has on many occasions called for the death of all Shiites in the Middle East. Elaborating on his plans for Syria, Al Ajmi noted his organization wants to topple Syrian President Bashar Al Assad as only he opposed their plan in the region. He added that no country in the Middle East or the Persian Gulf will be safe from the Salafis and their affiliates as they intend to gain power all throughout the Muslim world.
