Caretaker Prime Minister Ali Larayedh criticised what he considered "speculation on the regional dimension" used as means of manipulation of the public opinion following the protests which took place after the decision of the government to create faculties of medicine in some interior regions. In a statement to the press at the closing, on Sunday in Tunis, of the 11th edition of the International Show of Agriculture, Agricultural Machinery and Fishing (SIAMAP 2013 ), Larayedh said that he relies on the maturity of all the citizens and their awareness for not falling in regionalism, asserting that each achievement for the benefit of a region is a gain for all the other regions as well as all the citizens. "The government places all the regions as part of its priorities" he said, adding that "all our efforts, the efforts of those who came before us and those who came after us will focus on the keenness to allow each region have its share of development." "Who says that the governorate of Sidi Bouzid does not need a faculty of medicine and that the region only wants jobs is mistaken," the PM underlines in a press statement published by the communication advisor department for the Prime Minister. "We will strive tirelessly, on the file of job. We also grant as much importance to the other files such as agriculture, industry, Trade, higher education and health," the interim PM underlined. In this same connection, he added that the government acts as part of the revision of the health map. "We have undertaken efforts to create new health poles to cover all the marginalised and the most underprivileged regions with no consideration whether political or other. Who believes in such a thing is also mistaken," the PM further said. Larayedh specified that the projects, presently, implemented by the government were scheduled by the precedent governments. "what is planned today, will be achieved by the next government," he also explained, asserting that the "state remains and persons leave". "The commitment of the state to the citizens should be respected. What is pledged is the state and not the person who was in power. All achievements profit to all the citizens and we form only one state," Larayedh underlined. Besides, the Interim PM underlined that the national dialogue move increasingly : only one scenario remains : we bet on its success.
