Iranian top legislator Ali Larijani in a meeting with Indian President Pranab Mukherjee underscored the two countries’ abundant commonalities, and said Tehran seeks strategic and long-term partnership with New Delhi. During the meeting in New Delhi on Wednesday, Larijani said Iran was looking forward to a strategic and long term partnership with India, FARS news agency reported. “India and Iran come from same roots and their destinies are the same. A large area of cooperation is possible between the two countries,” Larijani said. Larijani left Tehran for India on Sunday in a bid to discuss bilateral ties with Indian officials, specially in parliamentary grounds.
