Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu has discussed in a telephone conversation the situation in Syria and the incident with the Turkish warplane, the Russian News Agency (RIA Novosti) reported today. "The situation in Syria, as well as the incident with a Turkish warplane, were discussed in a telephone conversation," the Foreign Ministry said. The Naval Forces of Turkey and Syria are continuing their search for two pilots of the Turkish warplane shot down by Syria's air defense forces on Friday, the Turkish media reported on Sunday, referring to diplomatic sources. The Turkish President Abdullah Gul said Saturday that the aircraft may have unintentionally violated Syrian airspace.
