Russia expresses continued support for territorial integrity of Moldova that should maintain its sovereignty, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said after talks with his Romanian counterpart Titus Corlatean on Tuesday. “Russia’s position on this issue is well-known. We express our continued support for Moldova’s territorial integrity that should remain a sovereign state,” Lavrov said. “These are the principles Russia is guided by in the Dniester conflict settlement,” he said. Lavrov also noted that he shared Corlatean’s opinion that Moldova’s future should be decided by free choice of Moldova’s people and Romania will respect it whatever it will be.
