Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had a telephone conversation with his Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Thursday to discuss the soonest convocation of the conference on Syria. Lavrov and Davutoglu discussed “key issues of Russian-Turkish relations and the situation in Syria”, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported. Lavrov informed his Turkish colleague about the outcome of the tripartite meeting (Russia-U.S.-U.N.) to prepare the peaceful conference on Syria, the ministry said. “They stressed the need to convene the conference as soon as possible. The conference will contribute to the political settlement of the Syrian conflict. The ministers agreed to continue contacts on this issue,” the ministry said.
