Lebanese Prime Minister, Najib Mikati said that the Lebanese government accords utmost care to the situation on the Syrian Lebanese borders, indicating that ''instructions were issued to the army to deal with border violations properly.'' He also called for abiding by the self-dissociation policy and shielding Lebanon from external repercussions. Mikati reviewed with the Lebanese Army Commander-in-Chief, Jean Kahwaji, the army's measures in various areas, especially in Tripoli, to prevent infiltration of gunmen and smuggling. Extra measures for taking action against cross-border violations were also approved. Earlier, Mikati had received the letter addressed by Syria to the Lebanese government regarding the border situation, which shows keenness on the mutual relations and dealing with cross-border border violations.
