
Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati conferred Sunday with General Security Director General, Abbas Ibrahim, who briefed him on the latest security information regarding Ruweis explosion in the Lebanese capital Beirut. The state news agency (NNA) noted that Mikati has applauded the huge efforts exerted by Major General Ibrahim and all security departments in maintaining state security and people safety through unveiling such sabotage plots targeting the country's stability. "The State's General Security has succeeded, through its professional relentless efforts, and in cooperation with various other security apparatuses, in contributing to sparing Lebanon numerous criminal plots targeting its stability; as well as ensuring citizens' safety and protection," he said. The General Security Directorate announced Sunday arresting four people of being members of a network accused of car bombs attacks in Lebanon. Meanwhile, the Health Ministry reported that the number causalities resulting from the Ruweis explosion on Thursday evening rose to 24 dead and 336 injuries.
