Lebanese president heads to Vatican

Lebanese President Michel Sleiman arrived in Rome on Thursday for a visit to the Vatican. According to Lebanon's national news agency (NNA), Sleiman is due to attend Maronite patriarch Rahi's consecration as cardinal by Pope Benedict XVIII during a special ceremony at St. Peter's Cathedral in the Vatican. The president is due to confer with the Pope along with senior Church officials over bilateral relations and matters of mutual concern.
