Lebanese President Michel Sleiman, met here today with the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and his accompanying delegation, currently visiting Beirut. During the meeting Sleiman expressed his country’s desire in boosting its relations with Hungary, lauding the latter’s contribution in the international forces in South Lebanon. Orban said that his country is keen to expand its foreign relations, adding that Lebanon will be the main pillar for this policy an the Middle East region. He expressed his country’s readiness for military cooperation with Lebanon in the fields of training and equipping. Lebanon’s (NNA) news agency said that the meeting addressed the situations in the region, especially in Syria and the importance of assisting Lebanon in sheltering the Syrian refugees. Lebanon’s Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri also met with the Hungarian Premier as they discussed bilateral ties in addition to the Syrian scene and its repercussions on Lebanon. Berri stressed the essential role that Europe plays in seeking a solution to the Syrian crisis.
