Spokesman for the Libyan Transition Government Nasser Al-Mana denied the arrival of a Libyan aircraft to Mauritania to bring Abdullah Al-Sanusi, the former director of the Libyan intelligence during the rule of Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. Al-Mana said in a press conference today that negotiations in the matter is ongoing, pointing that more than one delegation visited Nouakchott to negotiate the extradition Al-Sanusi, and that there are positive indications of that. The Libyan prime minister Abd Al-Rahim Al-Keeb visited Mauritania early July where he discussed the Sanusi matter with President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz. Mauritania announced on August 17 that its security arrested Abdullah Al-Sanusi at Nouakchott airport carrying a forged Malian passport.
