Local elections scheduled for October 20 will be held in 94 electoral districts in the West Bank while results of 181 other districts have already been determined as only one uncontested list in each district has submitted an application for the elections, said Hanna Nasser, head of the Central Elections Commission (CEC), on Saturday. He said another 78 districts have not presented a complete list of candidates and therefore were given an extension to update their lists and present them to the CEC until October 18. He said complementary elections in these districts will be held on November 24. Nasser said 4696 candidates have submitted application for the elections, including 1146 women, or 25% of the total. He also said over 500,000 voters will have the right to vote in these elections. Elections campaigns started Saturday and will continue until two days before elections, said Nasser.
