Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko congratulated Nicolas Maduro on winning the Venezuelan presidential election and invited him to pay an official visit to Belarus, the presidential press service said on Monday. "Belarus is sincerely happy for you and Venezuela. We wholeheartedly supported the continuation of the cause of great politician of the 20th and 21st century, Commandant Hugo Chavez," Lukashenko said. According to Belarusian leader, the choice made by the people of Venezuela displays great confidence and recognition of Maduro' s merits in the protection and support of state interests of Venezuela. The Ambassador of Venezuela to Belarus Americo Diaz Nunez said Monday that the victory of Nicolas Maduro showed that bilateral relations between Belarus and Venezuela will continue to develop. "The election results show a trend that continues to prevail," he added.
