Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will start Friday a visit to Egypt in the context of the ongoing consultation between the two sides in various issues of common concern, Palestine’s Ambassador to Cairo and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League Dr. Barakat al-Farra said today. Al-Farra said in statement that President Abbas will hold talks on Saturday with Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi, Chairman of Egypt’s Supreme Council of the Armed Foreces Military to address the latest developments in the Palestinian issue and the situation of the peace process. T’he talks will also deal with to the Israeli response to the letter sent earlier by the Palestinian President to the Israeli Prime Minister regarding the peace process. Al Farra pointed out that the Palestinian president will also meet during the visit, a number of officials, including Arab League Secretary General Dr. Nabil Al-Arabi to discuss future steps pertaining to the Palestinian cause.
