Majali, German official discuss bilateral ties

Interior Minister Hussein Hazza Majali on Thursday met with the Vice President of the German Parliament, Claudia Roth, and discussed with her means to enhance cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of security, the fight against crime and anti-terrorism. Talks between the two officials also touched on the latest developments in the region and ways to cope with the security, political, economic and humanitarian repercussions of the Syrian crisis on the Kingdom. During the meeting, Majali said that the Jordanian government has provided to the Syrian refugees education, health and security needs to the best of its abilities, and will continue to do so as it tries to find solutions to all the problems they might face. The Syrian refugees have placed a huge burden on the already limited resources of the country, Majali said, calling on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities in this area and fulfil its obligations towards this humanitarian crisis. Majali highlighted the importance of promoting relations between the two countries in the interest of the two friendly peoples. Roth praised Jordan for hosting the Syrian refugees and providing them with all basic services despite the difficulties and the economic challenges it faces.
