Badminton Association of Malaysia president Mohd Nadzmi Mohd Salleh has withdrawed from the Badminton World Federation (BWF) presidential election in May, the world badminton governing body announced Monday.Badminton Association of Malaysia has officially indicated that its chief will no longer stand for the BWF's top post when BWF Council elections are held on May 18 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, ahead of the Sudirman Cup, BWF said in a press release.Nadzmi was supported by Li Yongbo, head coach of China's national badminton team, who constantly complained about the tight schedule of players.The remaining candidates for the post of BWF president are Justian Suhandinata from Indonesia and former Olympic gold medalist Poul-Erik Hoyer Larsen of Denmark.The incumbent president Kang Young Joong from South Korea said he would step down as BWF chief after completing two four-year terms since 2005.
