Maldives President Dr. Mohammed Waheed Hassan has lauded Qatar’s support for development in his country through official institutions and charitable organizations. During a meeting with a number of officials of the Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (Raf ), the Malidives President praised as ‘noble’ the position of the Qatari government and people towards the Republic of Maldives. He also commended RAF foundation which, he said, is among the leading Qatari institutions in support of development in the Arab and Muslim world , especially in the areas of education and development.” At the end of the meeting, the Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF) honoured the Maldivian President on the occasion of his visit to Qatar. Ayed Al-Qahtani, Director General of the RAF Foundation and Chairman of the Board of Trustees said that RAF is “pleased to honour the President of the Maldives, for a number of considerations the most important of which is that the Republic of Maldives is a Muslim country with which we have deep historical ties he said, stressing keenness to embody the wise leadership’s vision in support of this country.
