A man in police uniform opened fire and killed three Afghan police in Khost province 150 km southeast of Kabul on Saturday, an official said. "In a tragic incident, a police constable opened fire and killed three colleagues in a checkpoint in Zazai Maidan district at 03:00 a.m. local time today," the district police chief Azizullah told Xinhua. He also stated that investigation is underway to identify the fact behind the bloody firing. Meantime, Zabihullah Mujahid who claims to speak for the Taliban outfit in talks with media via telephone from unknown location claimed of responsibility, saying the attacker was a Taliban member and has rejoined the Taliban. This is the second insiders attack on Afghan police since Friday. In the previous incident, a police who worked as chef in a police checkpoint in the southern Helmand province opened fire and killed six policemen and made his escape late Friday night.
