Manila and aid agencies make Rehab work efficient

The Philippine government is now working more closely with international agencies helping in rehabilitation work in Tacloban City, Leyte after the damage inflected by super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan). Social Welfare Secretary Corazon Soliman said she brought up the matter during a meeting with representatives of the agencies in Tacloban City, the Philppines News Agency (PNA) said Monday. According to Soliman, the meeting aimed to find which group is working where so they would not overlap or duplicate each other’s work. “That is very important so we don’t duplicate or over serve some areas and underserve others,” she said and added the system would help them act if there are gaps for aid. City officials said 4,990 cubic meters of debris had been cleared in the last three days, bringing to 71% the total debris cleared so far.
