Mansour: Egypt eager to boost relations with Libya at all levels

Egyptian Interim President Adly Mansour said that his country is keen on bolstering bilateral relations with its Arab neighbor Libya at all levels to materialize the goals of the revolutions that recently took place in the two countries.Mansour was quoted by his spokesman Ihab Badawi following a meeting between the interim president and visiting Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zeidan. Badawi pointed out that President Mansour told Premier Zeidan that Egypt's decision to withdraw diplomatic mission from Libya is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of the Egyptian diplomats and they will return in the nearest possible time. He noted that the meeting also tackled Egypt's contribution to the rebuilding process in Libya, cross-border crimes mainly weapons smuggling, the efforts to end the suspension of Egypt's membership at the African Union.Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Field Marshal Abdulfattah Al-Sisi held talks with the visiting Libyan Premier. The meeting focused on security cooperation between the two countries and the latest developments of common concern.Zeidan held talks with the Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Araby and Egyptian counterpart Hazem Beblawi.Late Saturday, the Libyan Prime Minister Zeidan and his accompanying delegation concluded their visit and returned back home.
