Tunisian President Mohamed Moncef Marzouki reiterated Saturday strong ties with Qatar over a phone call with Qatari Crown Prince, Sheikh Tameem bin Hamad Al Thani, Agence Tunis Afrique Presse reported. The phone call took up efforts exerted by Doha to support Tunisia and Palestinian reconciliation, presidential spokesman Adnene Mancer said. The two leaders also discussed social projects established by Qatar Charity and other projects scheduled to be established in the near future, Mancer added. They also discussed Qatari suggestion to hold a summit in Cairo to support the Palestinian reconciliation process with participation of Tunisia. Mancer noted that the call comes after Tunisia recovered the first payment of its money plundered by ousted regime.
