Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Ramin Mehmanprast, says Iran and Russia share common stances on Syria. Talking to Voice of Russia (Russian: ????? ??????) is the Russian government's international radio broadcasting service owned by the All-Russia State Television, Mehmanparast said on Friday that alike Russia, Iran believes that Syria problems can be settled through peaceful means. Mehmanparast said, “I believe that Syrian people’s demands should be addressed through a series of reforms by the country’s government.” He said any foreign intervention in Syria would be dangerous for both the country and the entire region. “We are suspicious of sincerity of a group of states who interfered in Libya affaires, believing that they try to access the country’s oil resources under the guise of defending interests of the Libyan people,” opined Mehmanparast elsewhere in his remarks in the interview. Now, he added, the same western states are now proposing such an intervention in Syria. Possibly, he noted, the countries want to prepare an appropriate ground for the Zionist regime in Syria.
