Merkel holds talks with Chinese PM

German Chancellor Angela Merkel met here on Thursday with Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao. Talks during the meeting focused on ways of boosting relations between the two countries, eurozone debt crisis and Syria. Merkel arrived in Beijing Thursday for her second visit to China this year, according to the (dpa) news agency. Seven German ministers were also scheduled to hold talks with their Chinese counterparts on Friday, officials said. Dozens of German business executives were travelling with Merkel in a delegation of more than 100 people.
