Mexican drug cartel leader nabbed at Amsterdam airport

 A suspected leader of a Mexican drug cartel wasarrested at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol at the request of the UnitedStates, according to dpa.Jose Rodrigo Arechiga Gamboa, 33, was taken into custody Monday after he disembarked from a plane from Mexico City, said the US Attorney'sOffice in San Diego, which is seeking his extradition.Arechiga Gamboa, who was travelling under a false name, is accused ofbeing a top enforcer for the Sinaloa Cartel, headquartered in the western Mexican state of Sinaloa.He was charged last month in the United States with conspiracy to distribute drugs and conspiracy to import them, according to anindictment unsealed Friday.Dutch border police had said they had taken an internationally soughtMexican suspect into custody at the beginning of this week. The DutchJustice Ministry is studying the extradition request, the Dutch ANPnews agency reported.Arechiga Gamboa allegedly is one of two leaders of a Sinaloa Cartel hit squad, earning him the nickname "Chino Antrax" after the usuallylethal disease anthrax, Mexican media reports said.
