Prime Minister Najib Mikati contacted by phone Mufti of Tripoli and the North Sheikh Malek Shaar, currently in Paris, to inquire about the date of his return to Lebanon. Premier Mikati assured Sheikh Shaar that requisite security measures have been adopted to guarantee his safety after his return to Lebanon. Mikati met with Internal Security Forces (ISF) Chief Ashraf Rifi on Friday afternoon at the Grand Serail, where they broached the current security situation. Among Mikati's other itinerant visitors for today has been General Prosecutor Judge Hatem Madi. Mikati then met with Regional Coordinator for Emergency Operations in Syria and Neighboring Countries of the World Food Program of the United Nations Muhannad Hadi. "We came to visit Mikati in the framework of World Food Program of the UN... We have projects inside Syria and neighboring countries dealing with the Syrian crisis," Hadi said on emerging. Hadi added that he discussed with the Premier some of the facilities and available methods through which Lebanese seaports can be used to provide food aids to Syria.
