One militant was killed and three others were injured on Friday when unknown gunmen attacked a police checkpoint in the Egyptian capital of Cairo, official news agency MENA reported. Four militants attacked the checkpoint in Oct. 6 City, west in Cairo, and exchanged fire with the policemen, which left the driver of the car carrying the militants dead and the three others arrested. The incident came in surge of attacks by the Islamist hardliners against the police and army officers following the ouster of Islamist President Mohamed Morsi in July 2013. Earlier in the day, two home-made bombs exploded near a central forces training camp in Cairo-Alexandria desert road, the Interior Ministry said, adding that a police vehicle passing by was totally smashed and one policeman was slightly wounded. On Tuesday, a police officer was shot dead by unknown gunmen who attacked a church also in Oct. 6 City, and earlier on Tuesday, two gunmen riding a motorbike killed a senior official of the Interior Ministry nearby his home in Giza province..
