Minister denies approving Iranian project to renovate Prophet's family mosques

Antiquities Minister Mohamed Ibrahim denied media reports about approving an Iranian project to renovate Prophet's family mosques. "Such reports are bare of truth and unfounded," Ibrahim told reporters on Tuesday. The Ministry of Antiquities did not sign any agreement of any kind with Iran, he stressed. Ibrahim noted that only the ministry is tasked with all maintenance and renovation works for all historical sites in Egypt, including Islamic mosques, shrines and holy places.
