HE the Minister of Awqaf (Endowments) and Islamic Affairs Dr. Ghaith bin Mubarak Al Kuwari has launched the new edition of the ministry’s electronic portal, which features some new interactive services to cope up with new technologies and respond to the demands of visitors. As he unveiled new updates to the portal, Mr. AbdulRahman Al-Muhanna, head of the information technology department at the ministry, said the new portal is characterized by simple design, ease of navigation and multimedia. “Communication with the public and visitors of the website was one of the priorities of the new portal update, which included links to major social networking [websites] such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube as well as a link to the live broadcast,” Al-Muhanna said. A separate link was dedicated to Mus’haf Qatar as well as links to the ministry’s services such as electronic publications, listening to lectures and lessons, identifying preachers for Friday prayers, fatwa requests as well as other services provided by the different departments of the ministry such as endowments, pilgrimage, preaching, and religious guidance.
