
A dozen minors have been placed in detention in Belgium because they planned an attack, two Flemish newspaper, Het Laatste Nieuws and De Morgen, reported on Saturday.
Just like the 12-year-old boy intercepted in Germany while aiming at a Christmas market, they received instructions during discussions on the internet, the reports said.
"There are currently about ten files concerning minors who have been recruited in the same way by terrorist organizations to prepare or perpetrate attacks," said Eric Van Der Sypt of the federal prosecutor's office in Belgium, "They have been placed in closed institutions."
Teenagers were asked to act in their surroundings. Through video messages, they received complete instructions on how they could kill someone or make a bomb.
The Islamic State has hoped that authors of this age can get through cracks, said the reports.
