EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini said Monday that the European Union will continue to support and welcome war refugees.
"We will continue to celebrate for every wall that is torn down and for every new bridge that is built up. We will keep working for peace and coexistence. This is our history, this is our identity, our work and our commitment," Mogherini said.
This statement comes after Trump set in motion his decision to build a wall on the US-Mexico border to prevent the flow of illegal immigrants, in addition to signing an executive order to ban seven Islamic and Middle Easter citizens to enter the US.
