Montenegrin President-elect Filip Vujanovic was sworn in on Monday, after wining his third consecutive term in May, local media reported. The ceremony was held in Cetinje, the old royal capital of Montenegro and the official residence of the president. Mr. Vujanovic said that he would perform his duty as president of Montenegro diligently and responsibly, to serve the best interest of all citizens of Montenegro. "As president I will be committed to preserving independence and sovereignty of Montenegro and its further affirmation as democratic, ecological state of social justice, based on rule of law," said Vujanovic. Vujanovic stressed that government in hard economic times has to act with more determination and courage, but should do it transparently and always keep in mind the public good. He underscored that it is important for Montenegro "to continue on its way to Euro-Atlantic integrations", expressing hope that the country will be offered membership in the next NATO Summit.
