
Interior Minister Mohamed Hassad held talks Thursday in Paris with his French and Spanish counterparts, Manuel Valls and Jorge Fernandez Diaz respectively, on the sidelines of the G4 meeting which was also attended by Portugal, represented by Minister of the Interior Miguel Macedo. At a press conference, Hassad said the talks focused on ways to strengthen Morocco’s cooperation with France and Spain in the fight against illegal immigration networks, terrorism, and drug trafficking. The minister said he discussed with his counterparts, Morocco’s efforts to ensure full coordination with France, Spain and Portugal to address these challenges and exchange information and data between the security services of the four countries. He also highlighted the migration policy of Morocco to regularize the situation of illegal sub-Saharan migrants in the Kingdom, adding that some 15,000 applications for regularization are being processed in different prefectures and provinces across the nation.
