Morocco’s return to the African Union (AU) is a huge achievement for the African continent which needs the contribution of such important countries to ensure its development and face the multiple challenges facing it, said Italian Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Vincenzo Amendola.
Morocco’s AU reintegration was a very positive and appreciated message, Amendola told MAP on the sidelines of the presentation, on Monday in Rome, of of the book entitled ” Lumières de Casablanca” (lights of Casablanca) by Italian Valeria Degl’Innoncenti, which sheds light on the history of the Italian presence in Morocco.
According to the Italian official, despite the fact that Morocco left the AU, it has always shown dynamism and solidarity with many African countries and has given impetus to south-south cooperation mainly within international organizations.
The noteworthy presence of Moroccan companies in Africa as well as HM the King’s visits in several countries of the continent are a clear example of the Kingdom’s dynamism, he noted.
