Mortar shells fall near Syrian presidential palace

At least two mortar shells fell Tuesday near the southern fence of the Syrian presidential palace in Damascus, dpa cited activists and state media as reporting. An official source confirmed to state news agency SANA that shells fell near the Tishreen Palace, resulting only in material damage. This is the closet shelling to take place near the palace, activists told dpa.
