Moscow traffic police chief warned of partial professional ineptitude

Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev has warned Moscow traffic police chief Alexander Ilyin of partial professional ineptitude. His deputy, who was responsible for supervising examination work, will be dismissed. “After a corrupt scheme of issuing driving licenses for bribes was exposed I made a decision to dismiss the deputy chief of the Moscow traffic police Mikhail Martushev from the police service. His chief – head of the Moscow traffic police department General Ilyin – has been warned of incomplete professional aptitude,” Kolokoltsev told a conference at the Interior Ministry on Friday. He warned Ilyin that if more such incidents occurred in the Moscow traffic police force, he would request his dismissal, too. Also, Kolokoltsev urged the Moscow police chief, Anatoly Yakunin, to put the Moscow traffic police in order. “This is a priority task for us. We must cope with it. The police chiefs who prove unable to turn the situation in their territories of Russia for the better will be disciplined or dismissed,” Kolokoltsev said.
