Secretary General of the Arab League , Dr. Nabil el-Arabi met today with the delegation of the Opposing Kurdish National Council of Syria (KNCS). During the meeting, discussion focused on the reasons for the postponement of the Syrian Opposition Forum, which was scheduled Wednesday under the umbrella of the Arab League. Head of the delegation Abdul Hamid Darwish told reporters that the meeting addressed a number of important points, expressing frustration over the postponement of the conference because it’s in favor of the Syrian regime. He added that the delegation expressed support for the initiative of the Joint Arab League/United Nations Envoy for Syria Kofi Annan, the Arab League initiative and the decision of forming a preparatory committee for the Syrian Opposition Forum for which date has not yet been set. For his part, head of the Arab and Regional Relations in KNCS Kheireddin Murad said the Arab League Secretary-General was assured that the Council is ready to cooperate and coordinate with the Arab League, and to respond to all its initiatives on Syria.
