Nabil Elaraby holds talks with UN secretary general on Syria

The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States Nabil Elaraby met here Monday night with the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meetings. During the meeting, the two officials agreed to coordinate joint action steps on the situation in Syria after the UN Security Council passed a resolution on Syrian chemical weapons last week. They also discussed the ongoing consultations to get a statement from the UN Security Council to address the worsening humanitarian situation in Syria, and the ongoing preparations for Geneva conference.
