Nasser Judeh stresses importance of UN security council’s resolution

Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Nasser Judeh, on Saturday, said Jordan played a key role in the drafting and adoption of the UN Security Council’s Resolution 2139, which was unanimously endorsed today to improve the humanitarian situation in Syria. He said the resolution is an important milestone because it was the first time a pure humanitarian decision is taken without objection or veto, adding that there was a full unanimity between members of the UN Security Council whether permanent or non-permanent on the humanitarian situation in Syria. The minister noted that the resolution condemns the widespread violations of human rights and international humanitarian law and calls on all parties to put an immediate end to all kinds of violence.
