NATO chief inaugurates joint training centre in Georgia

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg inaugurated a new training center in Georgia during his first visit to Tbilisi on Thursday, NATO said in a press release.
Stoltenberg described Georgia as "a strong and reliable contributor to our shared security" at a joint press conference with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. He thanked Georgia for being the second largest contributor to NATO's resolute support mission in Afghanistan.
The training center is part of the substantial NATO-Georgia package, agreed at the Wales Summit in 2014 to help Georgia in its aspirations to NATO membership.
NATO Allied leaders agreed at the 2008 Bucharest Summit that Georgia will become a NATO member, provided it meets all necessary requirements.
