NATO helicopter makes safe emergency landing in Afghanistan

A NATO helicopter made a safe emergency landing inAfghanistan on Thursday, the alliance said, denying a Taliban claim that it had shot down the aircraft, according to dpa. The Taliban said in a statement its fighters had shot the helicopter down over the province of Kabul, killing 33 NATO soldiers. "Initial reporting indicates that there was no enemy activity in the area", said NATO spokesman Christopher DeWitt, adding that all crew members were unhurt.
