NBC : Trump expects to raise $1 bn with Republican Party

 Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said on Wednesday he will probably work with the Republican National Committee to raise $1 billion to beat likely Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in the Nov. 8 U.S. presidential election.

"We're going to try and raise over a billion dollars which is what's going to be necessary. The Democrats maybe will get as high as two billion dollars," Trump said in an interview with NBC Nightly News.

"I'm not looking for myself, I'm looking out for the party, so the party can compete in Senate races and House races. I want to raise money for the party," Trump said.

Trump, who has proudly touted how he has self-funded his campaign, said he would begin actively seeking donations for his campaign and raise money for the national party.

The statements come following the exit of Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) from the presidential race.

The departure fully clears the field for front-runner Trump to become the GOP nominee. Another rival, Sen. Ted Cruz (Tex.), ended his bid Tuesday night.

However, there are still some notable defections among the GOP as the two living Republican past presidents, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, have no plans to endorse Trump, according to their spokesmen.
