The Head of the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) Mohamed Fayeq underlined the importance of the role played by the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) in helping the African countries in the fields of democracy, good governance, economic administration and social development.
This remark came during a meeting held between Fayeq and APRM panel member Joseph Tsang Mang Kin and his accompanying delegation at the council's headquarters.
Fayeq reviewed the efforts exerted by the council to promote and develop human rights and raising the awareness about it, adding that Egypt has attained achievements after the Revolutions of January 25 and June 30 via drafting a constitution and holding presidential as well as parliamentary elections.
For his part, Kin said that his visit to Egypt prepares for a visit by a work team assigned with estimation process that will last for one year.
