NCP: Opposition parties have no acceptance from Sudanese people

The deputy chairman of the National Congress Party (NCP) and presidential assistant Nafie Ali Nafie said opposition parties as too weak and divided suggesting they have no chance of garnering any gains in the 2015 elections. Speaking at an event in Nahr Al-Neel state, Nafie said that opposition forces has never been weaker adding that they have no place with Sudanese people who discovered their true intentions. Nafie who is seen as influential in Khartoum said that opposition parties are unable to agree within themselves on common goals and that they can only score points through the cyber media. The opposition alliance National Consensus Forces (NCF) is divided over how to bring democratic change in Sudan. The National Umma Party calls to reform the current alliance and to work out a plan aiming to pressure peacefully the NCP to adhere to democratic transformation. The other opposition forces mainly the Islamist Popular Congress Party and left political groups say they want to coordinate with the rebels on how to topple the regime but stress their commitment to political means. The Sudanese official went on to say that the NCP leadership goes only to qualified people irrespective of their names or titles. He boasted the turning tide in Sudan’s external relations saying that countries in Europe and Americas which were previously hostile are now seeking to build ties with Khartoum despite attempts by some circles to sabotage it. The NCP figure said that these countries discovered that opposition parties have no influence in Sudan and emphasised that the country is open for normal relations with any nation away from conspiracies or special agendas.
