President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad here on Sunday described the existing relations between Iran and Latin American states as cordial and growing. Speaking to reporters at Mehrabad International Airport prior to his departure to Venezuela, President Ahmadinejad stressed that Iran and Latin America enjoy cultural commonalties. He further lauded anti-imperialist approach of the Latin American nations and their resistance against expansionist policies of the bullying powers. President Ahmadinejad, heading a high-ranking delegation, left Tehran for Venezuela this morning at the first leg of his four-nation Latin American tour which will later take him to Nicaragua, Cuba and Ecuador, respectively.
