Nepal Airport to reopen after 4 days

Flights were to resume in Nepal's international airport after a Turkish Airlines plane was removed from the runway, where it had been stranded for four days, the authorities said.
A Nepal Airlines flight to New Delhi was scheduled to take off later in the evening, according to the Civil Aviation Authority.
Indian Air Force personnel, Turkish engineers and Nepalese technicians worked together to remove the aircraft from the side of the runway, where it had crash-landed on Wednesday.
The closure of Tribhuvan International Airport has led to the suspension of about 80 flights daily since the accident on Wednesday, stranding more than 24,000 passengers, authorities said.
The Turkish Airlines plane burst at least one tyre after landing, veering off the runway onto the grass. All 238 people on board left safely through the emergency exits, dap reported.
The Airbus A330 plane, which was flying from Istanbul, was on its second landing attempt after the first was aborted due to poor visibility.
